A Black Belt is Earned

Coutrnie Korpela was on a mission. It was a mission that required an incredible amount of work and flying someone in from Brazil to make it official!

Courtnie was determined to earn her black belt. After dedicating years to perfecting her technique, she was ready for the test. All she needed was a judge and a space. The space was local, Red Schafer Mixed Martial Arts. The judge, Pedro Saur, is from Brazil but no distance was going to stop this ultimate achievement. Courtnie reserved the space, flew Pedro in and finally earned the belt she coveted.

We had the chance to document the process and the achievement. What an exciting evening!
